Summary

The entrepreneurial journey, the journey of life is a journey of two paths; it’s the outward journey/the external journey and the inward journey.

The external journey/the outward journey is our goals, our ambition, our objective, it’s what we want to get out of life, it’s where we want to go with our life. How to achieve that is actually really simple. You just have to set your goals, write those goals down, have a plan and a strategy and just stick to the plan, stick to the strategy, keep taking the action. It’s really simple, it just isn’t easy. The reason it’s not easy is because of what’s going on in us – the internal journey.

One of the things I talk about is the entrepreneurial journey, it’s also the journey of life and it’s the journey of two paths; it’s the outward journey/the external journey and the inward journey.

The external journey/the outward journey is our goals, our ambition, our objective, it’s what we want to get out of life, it’s where we want to go with our life, and how to achieve that, it’s actually really simple. You just have to set your goals, write those goals down, have a plan and a strategy and just stick to the plan, stick to the strategy, keep taking the action. It’s really simple, it just isn’t easy. The reason it’s not easy is because of what’s going on in us.

The second part of the journey is the internal path, and that’s about us becoming who we need to be, in order to continually keep doing what we need to do in order to reach our objectives, and it isn’t that easy. We’ve got blocks, we’ve got barriers, we’ve got self-imposed limitations, we’ve got external imposed limitations, we’ve got ideas about who we are, what we can achieve out of life, what’s good, what’s bad, what’s greedy, what’s too much, what’s too little. All these things really play a part in maintaining the status quo, safety.

You see if evolutionary terms, we survive today and we survive tomorrow, and we survive the next day, and if we keep doing that then we thrive as a species. We thrive as a species by surviving as individuals. You were not born to be hugely successful, you weren’t even born to be hugely happy. We were born to survive. This whole machine, this whole evolved machine from our apposable thumbs, to the noses, to the hair on our heads, to our emotional responses that go on. The doubts, the fears, the frustrations, the guilt, the jealousies, the envies, the drive, the passion, the purpose, the lust all of these manipulants that are fired off inside of us that ultimately dictate what we do and therefore what we get back out of life.

Today we’re doing an event that’s all about the rabbit hole, and it’s the rabbit hole that is our life, and the world and it’s the manipulation that is going on in here, but also how the external world plays into that manipulation to start dictating to us who we are, what we can achieve out of live and if we want to have more, better or different out of live, if we want to improve circumstances for ourselves – in life and in business, then we need to break free.  We need to get out of that rabbit hole and that’s what this session is all about here today.

The rabbit hole that is the manipulation that’s going on in here which millions of years’ worth of evolution dictating our every move, thoughts, our feelings, our actions and therefore what we get back out of life, but also the manipulants in the world. It could be our well-meaning friends, it could be some not so well meaning people in our life, it could be the media.  We’ve got all these things playing their part that are dictating to us who we are, what we should want out of life, who we should be out of life and all because of course it will dictate our behaviours and what we get back in return.

So, if you want to break free, break free of who you are. Break free of what you’ve currently got, you’re going to need to walk those two paths; number one you need to have clear defined objectives, your strategy for achieving it and you need to keep taking action in order to eventually get there.  What’s going to help you or in fact the only thing that’s going to allow you to keep taking that action, is doing the work in you that you need to do, in order to make sure you become who you need to become in order to achieve what it is you need to achieve, okay.

If success was easy or if success was easy to come by, then everyone would be successful. If happiness was easy to come by everybody would be happy. We know that that’s just not true. For most of us, we’re living in a degree of frustration, we might be doing okay, but not doing great. Most people they feel all right they just don’t feel amazing. Most people aren’t unhappy but they’re not happy, they’re not unfulfilled, but they’re not fulfilled. What’s in that gap is walking those two paths of the entrepreneurial journey, it’s also the journey of life. The external path of objectives and ambition and goals and outcomes and the internal path of personal development and personal growth.

So, I encourage you to walk those two paths with us, it’s what we do at BBB, it’s what we do at success groups.

Until next time, be successful.
